February 1 – 28: Black History Month
The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will commemorate Black History Month at the Niagara Power Vista, 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston, N.Y., between Feb. 1 and 28 with a display of projects submitted by area students reflecting the national theme: African Americans in Times of War. As part of the month-long event, the African American Cultural Center will hold a performance on Saturday, February 24th in the Niagara Power Vista Community Room with emphasis on the theme. Guests are also invited to enjoy the all-new state-of-the-art exhibits at the Niagara Power Vista. Visitors can take a seat in a 4-D theatre virtual roller coaster ride, create a transmission distribution system on a one-of-a-kind transmission interactive grid table, build a dam or simulate the coordination of power across the state during bad weather.
