Ballet Camp

Come and enjoy a 3-day morning camp (M, W, F 9-12pm) that allows students to experience dance disciplines in an accessible and enjoyable way.  Miss. Billie Jean, a previous company member with the Rochester City Ballet, shares her love of dance with the students and helps them develop from their starting point when they walk in the door, to a dancer with a love of the classic ballets and their movements.

Students will enjoy ballet instruction, jazz, some performance experience with professional ballet videos.  Activities including modern dance and appropriate supportive crafts will also be included.  A current ballet instructor at the attached instructional ballet school to Rochester City Ballet, Miss. Billie Jean moved to Rochester after touring Austria with the Oklahoma Festival Ballet  and brings her energy, excitement and curriculum developed while earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma.

Students should be dressed in a solid color leotard, ballet footed tights and leather or canvas ballet slippers.  Boys wear white tshirt and black shorts or tights, and ballet slippers.  Please plan on bringng a nut-free snack each day along with a water bottle (no glass please).  Students do have access to fridge, freezer and microwave oven if needed.

Parents are welcome to watch during camp on the last Friday, however, we choose not to make this a big deal as many families are unable to be here beyond drop off and pick up so do not feel that you must be able to attend.
