announces the auditions for
Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical
Book by Dennis Kelly

WHERE: At Spotlight Studios, 3 Railroad Street in Fairport
This production is open to all performers grades 4-12. You do not have to have performed at Spotlight previously in order to audition.
- Friday March 27 at 7pm
- Saturday March 28 at 7pm
- Sunday March 29 at 2pm
at Spotlight Studios for the Performing Arts in Fairport
- Completed Audition Form and Conflicts Sheet (download below)
- A headshot or school picture, which will not be returned
- A resume, if available
AT THE AUDITIONS:
Those auditioning will:
- Learn a short dance segment (wear appropriate shoes)
- Learn a short song segment
- Perform one of the scenes in the Audition Packet
Depending on audition turn out, we may not need the student the entire time, however arrive promptly as the songs and dances will be taught first.
Use the audition form to fill out all potential rehearsals. Please be detailed. A rehearsal schedule will be created from these conflicts. A detailed schedule will be distributed after casting takes place. Cast members must attend all Mandatory Rehearsals.
There is a cost of $385 to participate in this educational experience. This tuition will be due at the first rehearsal, if you are cast.

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other's lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!
