Auditions for Broadway Showcase

On Sunday October 14, 2018 at 7 pm at The Lyric Theatre, 440 East Avenue, Rochester, Cara D'Emanuele presents a community musical theatre showcase featuring Broadway star Corey Cott. Corey is best known as Jack Kelly in Broadway's Newsies but also recently appeared on Broadway in the musical Bandstand.
Ensembles (community choruses, church choirs, a capella groups, school show choirs) will be presenting Broadway music during this showcase celebrating musical theatre. There are still openings for groups who are interested in this exciting opportunity. D'Emanuele will direct 3 ensembles that are open to students who have a love for the stage and Broadway and want to be a part of a sensational opportunity - to perform with a Broadway star!
Matilda Ensemble - girls ages 5 - 10 singing "Naughty" from the Broadway musical Matilda
The Little Mermaid ensemble - girls ages 10 - 14 singing "She's in Love" from the Broadway musical The Little Mermaid
The Dear Evan Hansen Ensemble - girls and boys ages 12 - 18 singing "You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen
To "audition" for any of these 3 ensembles please send a photo and a video recording of any 1-minute song (doesn't have to be Broadway; don't worry about professional quality) to cdstudio124@gmail.com. Students with all levels of experience are welcome. Once you have been invited to participate, you will receive rehearsal recordings, sheet music, costume notes, ticket links and other details.
There are two mandatory rehearsals at a Rochester location tbd
Matilda Ensemble
Saturday September 29 from 10 am - 12 noon and Sunday October 7 from 1 - 3 pm
The Little Mermaid Ensemble
Saturday September 29 from 12:30 - 2:30 pm and Sunday October 7 from 3:30 - 5:30 pm
The Dear Evan Hansen Ensemble
Saturday September 29 from 3 - 5 pm and Sunday October 7 from 6 - 8 pm
All showcase performers will sing "Seize The Day" from Newsies with Corey as the finale!
