The ArtsROC after-school program offers children, ages 5-14, the chance to learn, play, and explore their creativity under one roof. Students can participate in creative building challenges, shoot stop-motion videos using our extensive collection of LEGO bricks, or take part in various arts and crafts activities. Children also have the opportunity to play eSports like Fortnite, as well as build and create in an electronic medium through the computer game, Minecraft. This CAD-based world-building game has many educational applications, and we encourage kids to participate in projects and challenges on our internal ArtsROC servers. Join us for just a couple of days, or come for all five!
Be part of the world's first global Minecraft build project at ArtsROC Summer eSports Day Camps in Pittsford! Students, ages 6–14 years, will have the opportunity to work not only with others at ArtsROC, but also with students across the world, to create the "Google Earth" of Minecraft. Collectively build the City of Rochester, and everything from the mountains to the prairies to skyscrapers, pyramids, and new worlds while gaining essential cognitive skills needed to succeed in today's digitized world. Learn the arts of eSports from Minecraft to Roblox to Smash Bros to Fortnite and tackle building challenges, game play, server maintenance, live streaming, video editing and more. (Kids can check out our TV studio and LEGO wall for added fun!) Camps will be held from June 29 through August 28 and run from 9:00am to 3:00pm, with an option for before-care at 8:00am and after-care until 5:30pm.
