In Rochester, baseball is different from larger cities, but is arguably far better for families who love the game. Tickets are dramatically less expensive than for major-league teams -- they run $6.00 to $10.00, and kids can save $1.00 on their tickets by joining the Knot Hole Gang and coming for special Knot Hole games (usually on Sundays). At every Sunday afternoon home game, kids get the chance to run the bases with Spikes & Mittsy the Red Wings mascots. Every Friday night and on select other nights, fireworks follow the game. And there are other discount promotions and special theme days too numerous to mention. See http://www.redwingsbaseball.com/schedule/ for their special month-by-month guide to promotions.
