Write On for Homeschoolers
Instructor(s): Caren Pita
Location: WAB – 740 University Ave.
Code: S17-Y13
This session of Write On offers a workshop experience for the young writer! Each class will include writing prompts or games, time to work independently, in small groups, or with the instructor, and a little break to play (outdoors, when the weather allows). Content will be student-directed, so expect lots of creativity! All students should be able to write independently (that is, they don’t need an adult to take dictation), but spelling and handwriting skills can be any level, so long as the student can read his or her own work. Please send students with writing materials if they have preferred ones (journals, folders, and pencils are provided for in-class use), a snack if necessary, a water bottle with a cap/lid (no open cups), a bag capable of holding any stuff they bring, and appropriate clothes/footwear/sun protection for going outside. Books and toys won’t be allowed out during class, so please make sure that any such things are either left home or fit in their bags.
If you would like to make a request for an accommodation, please email us at accommodation@wab.org at least 10 days prior to the event.
