World Canals Conference 2017 Free Public Event Day

The World Canals Conference (WCC) kicks off on Sunday, September 24 with a free Public Event Day from 1 to 6 p.m. at Syracuse Inner Harbor, Creekwalk and downtown museums.
The public is invited to tour the replica 1862 canal schooner Lois McClure, row a traditional six-oar long boat built at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and watch live hot glass shows presented by the Corning Museum of Glass GlassBarge.
 
Musical entertainment includes performances by The Sim Redmond Band (1:00-2:45pm), The Measure (3:15-4:15pm), and Damn Dog (4:45-5:45pm).
 
Other unique experiences include free kayak lessons and demonstrations, boat tours showcasing the cleanup of Onondaga Lake, live fish displays, and exhibits from I LOVE NY and cultural and recreational organizations. Food trucks and Taste NY specialty foods will also be available.
