Entering its 19th season, Webster Golf Camp offers a program which provides your child with the opportunity to learn not only the mechanics of golf, but also a greater appreciation for the spirit of the game. Since being established in 1989, Webster Golf Camp has instructed over 2800 junior golfers. With the addition of boot camp, 330 juniors now participate during the summer. Boot camp is is an instructional program geared for the beginner. The full day program is for juniors who play golf regularly and who are able to break 70 for nine holes.
Junior Golf 1The schedules for boot camp and the morning session of full day are the same. The juniors receive instruction, play the six hole pitching course and participate in games earning points for their teams. After breaking for lunch, the full day groups play nine holes of golf. The professional score sheets, certificates, and folders make Webster Golf Camp a top notch program.
The continuing popularity of the program is due to the ongoing efforts to have fun while learning and practicing new golf skills. Participants are grouped according to ages and skill levels, with a 12:1 student to instructor ratio. All our golf professionals are PGA certified, with a combined 37 years of teaching experience.
Through the course of the full day camp, golfers are exposed to the fundamental mechanics of all phases of the game which include full swing, pitching on the specially designed 6 hole course, chipping and putting. Various methods are used to teach: drills, games, contests which focus on proper techniques. Daily, juniors have the opportunity to practice their new skills by spending an ample amount of time on the golf course.
Junior Golf 2Golf is more than just hitting the ball and keeping a score. A true golfer respects the game, the other players, and the golf course. Webster Golf Camp emphasizes sportsmanship, fairness, honesty, rules and etiquette, and humility. In recognition of these qualities, the Arnold Palmer Sportsmanship Award is given to the junior golfer who demonstrates these attributes for each camp.
Even though at times golf can be demanding and frustrating, many junior golfers return to our program year after year; fun remains an important and rewarding part of the game.
