STAGES Broadway Intensive with Nicolette Hart

April 17 & April 24, 1 – 5pm
Tuition: $195 for both sessions
Stages and Ms. Hart invite students in grades 7 – 12 to take part in a unique, fully interactive, 360 degree master class!
(If you are looking for a chance to see friends, chat and be a spectator, this opportunity is not for you.)
HOWEVER, if you are interested in unlocking your most authentic self, deepening your storytelling, mastering your audition, sharpening your vocal technique, broadening your book, and gaining knowledge concerning all things Broadway and beyond…Come JOIN US!!!

We will cover…
Headshots & Resume’s (the good, the bad, and the ugly), acting exercises, scene work, storytelling through song, music theory, audition technique, community opportunities/summer programs/college prep…
Each student should prepare at least one 32 bar cut of a song in the correct key (bring music in a binder), OR a short monologue.
PARENTS AND STUDENTS – There will be a short Q and A/talkback at the top and end of the workshop open to all. The 2nd day will culminate with a performance by each student (polished song or monologue).

About Ms. Hart:
Nicolette Hart brings over 20 years of stage and screen experience back home to the town where it all began! Nicolette (nee Michelle Lipman) grew up in Penfield, NY immersing herself in all things “performer” from a very young age. She went on to earn her Musical Theatre degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo, before moving to Nashville (a detour that would become an invaluable 5 year learning experience on her road to Broadway). Finally, in 2001, an audition moved her one step closer to NYC, and in 2002 she formally made the move. Within months of settling in, she had the once in a lifetime opportunity to audition for one of three coveted spots as a HARLETTE touring and performing with the inimitable Bette Midler (what were the chances???) HA! Now coming up on 15 years later, Nicolette still tours and performs with the great Ms. Midler! Between 2002-2011, Nicolette had the great fortune of moving seamlessly between 4 different Broadway shows, (RENT, Wedding Singer, Legally Blonde and Million Dollar Quartet) as well as a touring with a number of shows throughout the country and the world. Her film and tv credits include; Law and Order, Lipstick Jungle, Nurse Jackie, Cherry Crush, Veronika Decides To Die, Prescient, and Love and Other Impossible Pursuits. In 2013, Nicolette formally made the move back to Rochester, while maintaining her presence in NYC.
