Spring Raptor Camp at Braddock Bay

BBRR invites youngsters who are enthusiastic about nature, and especially raptors, to join us for our Raptor Camp program. Kids will get to learn about birds of prey, and how they are studied in the field at Braddock Bay by visiting our hawkwatch and banding station and exploring the habitat of Braddock Bay.
Tentative Schedule for Hawk Happenings:
11:00 – Orientation at the Braddock Bay Lodge
11:15 – Hawk ID 101 – learn what species of hawks are sighted at Braddock Bay and then about the basics of hawk identification; create kids’ “scorecard” for hawkwatching
11:45 – Quick Binocular Lesson
12:00 – Walk to the Hawkwatch; Hawkwatching at the Platform; bring a bag lunch or snack to an eat while there
Suitable for kids ages 10 and up. A parent or supervising adult must accompany child for entire program. Reservations required and space is limited to 12 kids. Suggested donation fee is $5/child (adults are free). To register e-mail BBRR at information@bbrr.org or call 585-BOP-LIVE.
