Calling all rising 8th grade girls.  Please join us the week of July 13th-17th to explore the power of mathematics at Rochester Institute of Technology.  In state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, we will conduct hands-on science experiments.  Whether it’s studying protein concentrations, playing with soap films, or designing bus routes, we get to the root of exactly how mathematics plays an important role in understanding these scientific processes.  There will be plenty of time for fun and making new friends.  We will spend an afternoon ice-skating in Frank Ritter Ice Arena, eating lunch in the Student Union, and going on a nature walk.    The $250 registration fee includes lunches, snacks, supplies, recreational activities and a t-shirt; need-based scholarships are available.  To pre-register, visit http://www.rit.edu/science/smash or call Director, Dr. Kara Maki, at 475-2541.
