Saturday Snowshoeing and Winter Hike: Tracks in the Forest

Distinguishing one animal's footprints from another can be difficult. Join us on our "Tracks in the Forest" snowshoe hike and learn how to identify what animals were in the area based on the tracks they left behind.

Have you ever stumbled upon some tracks, but had no idea what might have left them? Come to Genesee County Park & Forest on February 25th as we set out on our "Tracks in Forest" snowshoe hike. As we hike through the forest, you will learn how to identify different animals based on their tracks and the other visual clues they leave behind. No prior snowshoeing experience is needed, as a brief lesson on walking in snowshoes will be held before the hike (weather permitting). Snowshoes are provided or you may bring your own. Hikes will go, snow or no snow! After the hike, enjoy snacks and refreshments at the Interpretive Nature Center! Pre-registration is required! Call 585-344-1122 to reserve your spot!
