RMSC Summer Fun Camps AT THE CUMMING NATURE CENTER:
Full Day Camps at the CNC- Monday- Friday 9am-4pm
The RMSC Cumming Nature Center (CNC) is a 900-acre preserve located 40 minutes south of Rochester, NY in the Finger Lakes region near the village of Naples. Camps at the CNC include program and activites both inside the CNC and outside on the trails. All CNC Camps occur rain or shine.
>The RMSC offers busing for an additional cost of $25 per week.
>NEW this year! For the 12-15 year old camps there will be an Optional Overnight at the CNC from Thursday, August 6- Friday, August 7.
Me & Mother Nature
Ages 6-8
Become one with Mother Nature this week and learn all about the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems of this region. Take a deep look into the forests and discover different types of trees, plants and animals. See how the climate in our region affects life of all kinds in the forest and what you can do to conserve this natural habitat.

Into the Wild
Ages 9-11
Do you have what it takes to go into the wild and survive? Put your basic survival skills to the test as you discover what it takes to survive in the wilderness. Construct outdoor shelters, build solar stills, light fires with one match, learn about wild edibles, and gain valuable orienteering knowledge as you navigate the wild forests at the CNC.

In the Field: Archaeology
Ages 12-15
Two Week Camp: July 27-August 7*
Can you dig it? Head into the field and learn about the world of archaeology. Explore science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) topics and what it’s like to work in these fields. Take this exciting journey from the classroom and lab, and then head into the field to put your new skills to the test. Visit an active dig site in the area once known as Frost Town—uncover the history of this area’s earliest pioneers as you dig at the foundations of their former settlement. Get-hands on with planning an excavation, opening test units, collecting real artifacts and presenting your findings in a mini-exhibit at the end of the two weeks. *Optional overnight from Thursday night August 6-Friday August 7, 2015.
