Art Smarts
Ages 2-3 (Parent with Child)
Use science to help you create wonderful works of art. Experiment with bubbles, use chalk and oil to paint, create rubbings using our natural landscape, and find out how animals can be artists! Explore color, lines and texture as you brush up on your art smarts!

Jurassic Adventures
Ages 3-4
Explore the world of dinosaurs! Learn how scientists study the bones of dinosaurs. Experience the life of a paleontologist as you go on a mock dig, learn about dinosaur defenses, investigate fossils and meet our Mastodon skeleton! Get ready to make your own fossils and witness an erupting volcano!

This Lil’ Light of Mine
Ages 4-5
Discover the beauty of colors and the power of light! Learn the colors of the rainbow and how to mix colors to create new ones! Experiment with light and shadow. How are rainbows made? Why are bubbles colorful? Manipulate light, make a sun catcher, trace your own shadow, and discover what’s happening with light when you look in the mirror.

Abracadabra, Alakazam! Step into the world of wizards and learn how real science looks like magic. Make invisible ink, fake dragon blood and fairy dust. Ride on broomsticks, learn about levitation and plant a terrarium in herbology!

Ages 5-7 (Almost Camp)
The forecast is in and it’s calling for a weeks’ worth of fun! Have you ever wondered where our weather comes from? Rochester’s weather is wild and wacky. Learn all about heat waves, clouds, rain, lightning, snow, the sun, storms and more! Step right up to our green screen and give the forecast a go!

Into the Sea
Ages 6-8
More than 95% of the oceans remain unexplored! Let’s dive in and explore the underwater depths that are home to some of the most diverse life on Earth. Investigate animals and plants of the deep, experiment with water and what floats, learn what’s in sand and what makes a wave, explore the science of sharks and discover how scientists study the oceans. Enjoy a visit to the Aquarium of Niagara. Camp includes dissection.

Want to be a superhero? Discover the science behind super powers! Experiment with invisibility, x-ray vision, flexibility and reflexes, super strength, the physics of flight and the other super cool powers of your favorite superheroes. Design your own superhero as you choose your powers and create a costume! Meet local heroes that keep our community safe.

VEX Robotics
Ages 9-11
Build complex robots, learn about gear ratios and overcome team challenges! Working with updated equipment this summer, experiment with the design process as you build, test and re-test to prep your teams’ ‘bot for the demonstration on Friday. Note: Knowledge of VEX Robotics and NXT Robotics are helpful, though not necessary.

Come fly with physics! Uncover the mechanics of flying machine inventions and vehicles and the physics behind them. From airplanes and helicopters, to gliders, hot air balloons and hovercrafts—discover what keeps planes, and birds, in the sky! Design, test and modify your own paper airplanes and flying machines.

Discover a world you can’t see! Nano is, after all, the super small world! Nanoscience and technology let us build things the way nature does—atom by atom.
