The mission of the Rochester Children's Film Festival is "to provide an accessible forum for non-violent, artistic films and other media as part of literacy education for children, their families and caregivers." The Film Festival focuses particularly on films that center around cultural diversity, problem solving, artistic expression, and gentle social messages. The film festival runs all throughout the month of April, with showings at various community centers such as childcare centers, libraries and schools.
The Rochester Children's Film Festival is a collaborative effort led by the Rochester Association for the Education of Young Children, the Rochester Public Library, the Rochester City School District, Office of Early Childhood, Family Child Care Satellites of Greater Rochester and other organizations and volunteers.
