In conjunction with the office of Women in Computing (WiC), Women in Engineering (WE@RIT) will be opening the doors to the public on Saturday, November 7th from 9-1, primarily in James Gleason Hall (Bldg 9)., with many stations/demonstrations/activities in all engineering and computing disciplines staffed by our female students.
What exactly is an engineer? What do engineering and computing professionals look like? What opportunities are available to them? How can educators tie engineering and computing back into their curriculums? These questions and more will be explored in open house style on Saturday, November 7th. This will be a casual and interactive way to introduce girls to fields of study in engineering and computing, with RIT’s female students as role models. This event is free and open to all, but will focus on messaging for girls in grades 5-9, their families, and their educators.
We are thrilled to announce this event and hope to see you on November 7th! Check back to our website as more information will be coming soon. https://www.rit.edu/kgcoe/women/event
