Register to create a FAIRY HOUSE to be displayed at the Corn Hill Arts Festival!

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 06/11/2022
The Corn Hill Arts Festival is July 9-10 for 2022; each year, the family area has a section devoted to Fairy Houses: Much like the Gingerbread House display that the George Eastman House presents every year, this is a great way for kids of all ages to be creative and have fun in a way the whole community can enjoy. Even better, you, your family, your club, or your business can take part! Register to build a Fairy House and bring it to the Festival. Winners will have their Fairy House displayed at The Strong National Museum of Play following the Festival! Register to enter your kids or team today. Then, you build the house, and bring it to the festival carefully on a board or some other means of transport. Entries will be judged in 12 categories, and there will be a People's Choice award as well. Win prizes that celebrate the best of what Rochester has to offer!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

The 38rd Annual Fairy Houses Tour at the 2022 Corn Hill Arts Festival is a magical experience for the whole family! Sign up and build your own Fairy House for the Festival! Winners will have their Fairy House displayed at The Strong National Museum of Play following the Festival!

What is a Fairy House? It is a tiny home built out of natural resources that kids, families, and businesses can build for fun... to attract fairies!

This year, the Corn Hill Arts Festival's kids section is a Fairy House Tour! Much like the Gingerbread House display that the George Eastman House presents every year, this is a great way for kids of all ages to be creative and have fun in a way the whole community can enjoy.

Tracy Kane, the author of Kristen's Fairy House and the originator of the Fairy House trend for the past decade, will be at the festival, signing books, telling stories, and judging the entries. Families, youth organizations, camps, and businesses can register to present their fairy house (which you build at home and bring to the festival on a board on Friday, July 8).

Here is a quick video showing you how to make a fairy house:
