Railroads have been part of the fabric of our lives for the past 200 years.  For "Railroad Day", the museum offers special activities and demonstrations to enrich our knowledge of railroading and its history.  Visitors will be able to try their hands at operating a vintage velocipede just as railroaders did long before the age of internal combustion engines.  Several model railroads will recreate the world of railroading in miniature, and representatives from Operation Lifesaver will be reminding all of the importance of safe practices around today's railroads.  Presentations in the museum gallery will describe rail history, bringing that history to life.  Trolley rides on the museum railroad throughout the day!
