Primitive Pursuits, established in 2000 and based in Ithaca, New York, is a non-profit environmental education program whose mission is to steward the health of our community by fostering life-long relationships with the natural world for children and adults. We do this through mentorship, earth-living skills instruction, exploration and experience in nature. We believe that if we can help people to feel a part of the world around them, and help them to ask great questions, then wherever they go they will have the tools to feel at home in and learn about their environment.
During the school year, we offer weekly programs including Homeschool, Preschool, Afterschool & Saturdays for youth. Our programs are all-outdoors in all weather, mentoring youth in connecting with nature and finding their place in the natural world.
