Warning--This class might involve homework. What is a portrait? Does a person need to be in it? Can a portrait be just about memories and feelings? Can an object represent a person? Come explore these questions together in this personal narrative- portrait making class. Learn intuitive drawing techniques and improve observation skills in this intensive 6-week course. Weekly classes will focus on specific techniques such as blind contour and gesture drawing, and homework will teach students how to observe, see correctly, draw loosely, and use intuition as a guide. Students will use charcoal, colored pencils, and paint to create still-life drawings of meaningful objects, personal pictures, and the life around them.

Tuition is $100 includes material fee per session; Session I Jan 9th-Feb18th, Session II Feb 27th - April 8th, Session III April 24th - June 3rd.
