The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create weird movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books in about 90 seconds. Every year, the best movies are shown at gala screenings all over the country—co-hosted by founder James Kennedy and other great children’s authors. This year, Rochester, NY is one of the lucky cities that will host a gala screening at the Dryden Theater on Saturday April 2! However, the most exciting thing is that James Kennedy will come to the Kate Gleason Auditorium on Friday April 1 from 3-5pm to show some 90 Second Newbery films and talk about how YOU can enter next year’s contest.   The Central Library is accessible to people with disabilities. To request specific accommodations, call 585-428-8304 ten days prior to the program.
