Mountain High Adventure Camp - Introduction to Adventure - Session #1 - for 7- to 12-year-olds

Monday... We will go canoeing, kayaking and swimming today with a picnic lunch.
We will supply a picnic lunch. Bring a swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, full water bottle, water shoes or old sneakers and sunglasses (optional). Bring a small backpack (book bag) to carry your stuff.
Tuesday... 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM - Today we will be doing a bicycle treasure hunt. We may ride between 10 and 12 miles total. We will start by checking the bicycles and making any needed adjustments. We will go over bicycle safety rules. Finally, we will leave for our ride. Afterwards, we will play some games, maybe a craft and swimming.

Wednesday... 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Today we will learn how to use a map and compass as well as a GPS. We will use map and compass and the GPS to find treasures down at Ellison Park, Explore along Irondequoit Creek, check out some hiking trails, play some games and then swimming and sand castles.
Bring a lunch, swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, full water bottle, water shoes or old sneakers and sunglasses and small inexpensive items to trade in the geocaches. Bring a small backpack (book bag) to carry your stuff.
Thursday to Friday Overnight. We will meet at 8:30 AM on Thursday to check over our equipment for our overnight trip to Selkirk Shores State Park. We will pack everything into the trailer, and leave for the overnight. We will spend the two days, playing, swimming, and having fun. Everyone will get a chance to cook, clean up, set up tents, hang out around the campfire, toast marshmallows, and make smores. If everything works out, we may also do some Dutch oven or reflector oven cooking like cobbler or baking a cake. We may stop at Chimney Bluffs near Sodus on the way home and be back by 4:30 PM on Friday.
Bring comfortable clothing, warm fleece or sweater, jacket, raincoat, eating utensils (plastic cup, bowl, plate and silverware), flashlight, sleeping bag, swimsuit and towel, personal items (soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc), small backpack (for hiking), water bottle, camera (optional),
