“How long? Not long. Because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
—Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Join us in a dynamic quest to uncover present day cultural myths. Become an advocate of the transformative power of story and ritual to unite people and construct a more beneficial world! This multi-faceted class is a chance to create art that generates community transformation, by engaging cooperation and creative problem solving. Merging writing, spoken word, visual art, music, movement, and a field trip to the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG), we will use story to heal societal divisions and create a transformative ritual with elements from MAG exhibits, all designed to move us closer to the center on the wheel of life. We may find art forms are strong enough and flexible enough to help our community navigate this era of crisis and strife into a time of harmony and dynamic exploration – a time of creativity and peace.
