The Harley School

You don't have to be a Harley student to take Harley's After School programs! Classes are taught by our own teachers and selected coaches and instructors from Rochester's clubs and organizations. Hochstein School of Music & Dance

People often tell us when they come to Hochstein School of Music & Dance they feel welcomed and at home— even if it’s their first visit! Eastman Community Music School

Located on the campus of the Eastman School of Music in downtown Rochester's arts district, the ECMS has been educating residents of the Greater Rochester and Western NY State area for more than 90 years; 60,000 students have received music instruction at the school since its inception. Our offerings include: applied classical and jazz lessons (all instruments and voice), a full array of classical and jazz theory / composition, history, music technology courses as well as numerous ensembles from intimate chamber groups to large ensembles.  Each week, approximately 900 applied lessons and 100 classes and ensembles are held on campus offered through the Community School. Classes for toddlers, preschoolers, elementary-aged kids, teens, and adults.

Spotlight Studios in Fairport is dedicated to the education and advancement of Performing Arts for teens and kids around the area. A Magical Journey Thru Stages

A Magical Journey Thru Stages is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth community theater for children and teens from the Greater Rochester Area.  Youth are trained in singing, dancing and acting and perform in musicals and plays, plus we have a terrific new improv troupe for teens!  Shows for the 2014-2015 season:  Zombie Prom: A Musical; Little Women: The Musical; Tarzan: The Musical; The Beverly Hillbillies; and Jekyll and Hyde.  STAGES' theatre classes (including day time classes for home schoolers) and workshops are available throughout the year on a variety of theater topics for Grades 1 and up; we also have a vibrant homeschool program on Wednesdays (see http://mjtstages.com/education.html for details). Our Stages Kids (grades 2-5) program will feature two productions: Sleeping Beauty in the fall and Seussical, Jr in the spring. Bach Children's Chorus

Excelsior Brigade Fife & Drum Corps

Excelsior Brigade Fife & Drum Corps is a FREE music education and performance program that is offered to kids age 10 and up and adults who are interested in music from 19th-century America: Primarily Civil War-era music, but also music from the War of 1812 and the American Revolution. Everything about this group is free: Weekly lessons/rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 6pm-7:30 in East Rochester or Perinton (a mentoring process from more experienced musicians in the corps). Instruments and uniforms are provided free of charge. There is no fundraising, and no musical experience is required to start! Even better, once a performer reaches a certain level, he or she is paid to participate in performances and parades. The Barn Owl: Nature Study in Penfield

“Phenology refers to key seasonal changes in plants and animals from year to year – such as flowering, emergence of insects and migration of birds – especially their timing and relationship with weather and climate.” –USA National Phenology Network
Join us after school at The Barn Owl in Penfield on Thursdays for a unique, naturally dynamic club. Each week, we will explore the natural areas around The Barn Owl for clues on seasonal changes. Participants will record observations in a journal, which will be theirs to keep at the end of the session. Kids Miracle Making Club
