Maple Sugar Festival & Pancake Breakfast
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 03/27/2022
An annual favorite is returning to Genesee Country Village & Museum this winter! Gather family and friends to enjoy a safe outdoor outing, and explore the history of maple sugaring in New York State. Start your adventure at our Sugarhouse where the evaporator transforms sap into thick, amber maple syrup. Then, journey to the 19th century to see the techniques and tools that early settlers used to collect sap and make maple sugar. Savor tales of maple sugaring origins with Haudenosaunee storytellers at the Village Square Stage, try your hand at tapping a tree, or making tallow candles in the Historic Village. ASL interpretation will be offered for select programming on Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 27 courtesy of NTID's Department of American Sign Language & Interpreting Education. We encourage visitors to dress warmly, as this event is primarily outdoors!
