Come take part in a “whodunit” at Sonnenberg! Guests will have a chance to take part in this live-theater event by uncovering the clues that will solve the mystery and bring the guilty party -or parties- to justice! Light refreshments along with a cash wine bar will be provided. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. Guests are welcome to further participate in the fun, if they so desire, by attending in costume. Prepaid reservations required.

Each year’s Mansion Mysteries features a new play written specifically for the event. The play for 2015 is titled, “A Fowl Deed” and a brief introduction follows,

It is an early summer morning in 1908 and preparations are underway for the imminent opening of the Peacock House, the newest of Mary Thompson’s extensive aviaries at Sonnenberg. When a colorful, yet shady importer of wild animals, birds, and fancy fish, arrives to hand-deliver a rare African White Peacock, the esteemed Dr. E.B. Watts places the bird in temporary quarantine in Sonnenberg’s Aviaries Clinic. This causes an unexpected chain of events to occur – a recuperating Mynah bird, displaced by the quarantined peacock, is brought into the mansion where it causes great disarray with his loud, disruptive and often comical presence. Meanwhile, Mary’s guests, some invited and some not, begin arriving to add yet more confusion to the household. Amidst this confusion, a young maid discovers a hidden cache of diamonds and Detectives Slick and Sloan, whose motto is: “Complete Discretion is Guaranteed,” are called in an attempt to solve the mystery…
