What our organization offers:
Seasons / holidays:
Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Come visit our farm, taste our artisanal goat and cow cheeses, pet our goats, get a tour, and eat some cheesecake on our cute porch. Make sure to come in the spring to see our mischievous goat kids with your kids!

Lively Run Goat Dairy is one of the longest operating commercial goat dairies in the country, beginning production in New York State in 1982 and pioneering goat cheese in the American marketplace.

Our French-styled cheese recipes are developed, made and aged according to the artisanal method: in small batches, by hand. These delicious cheeses contain no preservatives, no food colorings, no artificial additives of any kind, and we use only vegetable rennet. We make goat cheeses including Chevre, Blue, Feta and a Gouda-style hard goat cheese, and cow cheeses including Cheddar and Blue.

Come visit our farm and learn about how we make our delicious cheese. See how our high-quality cheese is made safely and humanely, and take the opportunity to ask the farmer any questions you have about the goats and our cheeses. Tours are everday at 2:pm and include a cheese tasting, and a visit to where our loving goats live and work. On Saturdays we include an educational tour through our cheese making facilities with our cheese maker and normal week day tours include a video explaining our cheese making process.

Visiting our farm is a great educational family activity! Your kids can frolic with our ‘kids’ (the goats!) and our mischievous goats will give you a good laugh and brighten your day. We offer cheesecake & coffee, and a variety of other beverages for you to enjoy on our porch.  Tours are open year round, but be sure to visit us again in the Spring to meet our baby goats!

Starting Memorial Day, Farm tours will be given at 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Tour price includes a cheese tasting and is $5 Monday-Friday, and $7.50 on Saturdays for the “Meet the Cheese-maker tour”. For off season or group tours, please call us at 607-532-4647. Groups of 15 people or more will receive a group discount on the “Meet the Cheese-maker” tour at $5/person.
