REQUIRED COURSE PREREQUISTES – See Below

As recent headlines have shown, engineers are increasingly called upon to deal with complex, non-traditional, and previously unforeseen challenges. Developed by The Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education (CIESE) at the Stevens Institute of Technology, the underwater environment of the WaterBotics® program gives students a sense of both the known and unknown challenges that real engineers face every day.

For our students who have already participated in land-based robotics missions, the complexities of the underwater environment present unique demands that challenge even the most experienced robot designers. Tasks such as getting the bot to float or sink, keeping it upright, compensating for the effects of water pushing against it, and getting it to move in three-dimensions, are novel challenges that correspond to specific science topics, such as buoyancy, drag, stability, and three-dimensional movement. AtVista Teach we provide our students with experiential learning of these concepts with teaching 21st century skills along with offering comprehensive instruction in dynamically evolving technologies, physical sciences, and engineering innovations – all in a real world context with preparing our students for jobs that don’t even exist yet!

Since students will be working in teams of two, campers may wish to enroll with a friend or relative, to specifically partner with. If this is the case, please note the requested partnership on the (required) Learning Styles Inventory Form posted below – thank you!

With limited enrollment for this intensive science and engineering course,  there are very specific PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS:
