Roomful of Teeth is dedicated to exploring the full potential of the human voice, through study with masters of singing traditions from all over the world and by commissioning and creating new works. The New York Times called the ensemble's debut album “sensually stunning,” and it was included on many Best of 2012 lists, topping the classical charts on iTunes and Amazon, even breaking into the top 10 on the Billboard charts. The album was deemed “fiercely beautiful and bravely, utterly exposed” (NPR); Pitchfork predicted “it will send an unnameable thrill down your spine”; and Textura declared, “the group re-writes the vocal rulebook.”
Roomful of Teeth will perform a program of 21st-century works by living composers, including Roomful of Teeth founding member Caroline Shaw's Partita for Eight Voices, for which she won a Pulitzer Prize.
