Intro to Video Journalism Part 3: Shooting and Editing

This class will be an in-depth breakdown of what to do when filming and editing. The instructor will use a Slow Road episode as the framework for showing how he goes about filming interviews, b-roll, and edits.

This class will be a more in-depth breakdown of what to when filming and editing. Participants will learn about proper checklists to go through during a shoot as well as the editing process. He worked as a member of Americorps for city recreation, got to know the city and combined his interest for filmmaking with his passion for the community. Alex films and edits a variety of documentaries under the name Studio 73 Productions, and prefers to focus on journalistic style shorts. (vimeo.com/studio73productions). He also films and edits the web series Slow Road (slowroadtravel.com). This past year Alex was commissioned to produce a documentary for the Greentopia film festival, and recently filmed the 2015 Jazz Festival.
