December 10, 16 and 17, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to celebrate the holidays with you at the New York Museum of Transportation. You'll take a ride on a heated vintage trolley car through scenic winter countryside, then return to wash down cookies with a steaming cup of delicious hot chocolate. Share your Christmas wishes with the Big Man, and wander through the museum, decorated for the holidays.
What's to see at the museum? Plenty! How about the fondly remembered Midtown Plaza Monorail. It's here in a static display looking like it's ready for a trip through the Magic Mountain, bringing back holiday memories for young and old. There's more: what's Christmas without model trains? Thrill to our huge model railroad in action with three trains running at once and hundreds of miniature citizens inhabiting the tiny city and farms. There's a fire truck to sit in, horse drawn vehicles to remember, plenty of models to view, and a slew of smaller artifacts that illustrate our area's transportation history. Wow!
The museum is conveniently located on East River Road in Rush, NY, just 20 minutes from downtown Rochester via I-390. Take exit 11, route 251West to the flashing red light, then north on East River Road to the museum entrance driveway.
