Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced today the return of “Free Youth February” at Seneca Park Zoo. This special admission offer will provide residents up to five free youth admissions with one paid adult admission throughout the entire month of February. In addition, each paid admission will receive a voucher for one free visit this upcoming summer.
“Last year, we had a fantastic response to our first-ever “Free Youth February,” proving that the Seneca Park Zoo is a wonderful place to visit all year around,” said Dinolfo. “We want to again invite the community to come enjoy all that the Zoo has to offer during the winter months.”
The Zoo is open all year (closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). Now through March 31, the Front Gate opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. You may stay on grounds until 4 p.m. The Zoo opens at 9:30 a.m. for members. Adult admission (ages 12-62) costs $10 during the winter season. Free youth offer valid only when purchasing tickets at the Front Gate.
“Guests visiting the Zoo in February may also spot animals they don’t usually see – many are more active on colder February days,” said Zoo Director Larry Sorel. “Animals like the Amur tigers, Canada lynx, polar bear, and gray wolves are very active during the colder months here in Rochester. Even other animals you may not expect, like the baboons and African lions.”
The free youth admission offer will be valid during Winter Recess, making the Zoo a great place to visit while school is out.
