This is a new and very exciting application of Music Together. Our musical family will be extended and “grandfriends†will be joining and participating with us. A 10 week session will be offered at Baywinde senior living in the fall, but you can also join us in the summer for 6 weeks and only pay the price for 4 classes.
Why this is a great program for young children and seniors?
Music stimulates socially, physically, cognitively, and promotes language, concentration, social skills, confidence, and self-esteem. The power of music is often most easily seen in the responses of both the very young and the very old. Intergenerational music making is a win-win on multiple levels. They are a great opportunity for young children to bond with seniors when they may not have grandparents or great-grandparents as part of their everyday lives.
