Sentences are living things–they fly around! This class will explore sound patterns, rhythm, and the element of surprise in language, through the use of engaging writing exercises. Tone is created by the writer’s voice, the shape of a sentence, rhythm, length, pauses—much like it is in music. We will study craft by looking at some well-constructed short pieces of writing and practicing a smorgasbord of different techniques. You will leave with a blueprint of ideas to create your own literary feast!
