From 11 am - 2 pm, for ages 10+ with adult, the day offers make-and-take heart crafts including beautiful traditional Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) beaded heart pins, beaded heart sachets and unique cornhusk roses made from Iroquois White Corn husks. Cost is $3/project. Iroquois White Corn-inspired heart cookies and heartwarming vegetable and corn soup will be available for purchase.
At 2 pm, special guests Sally Roesch Wagner, author, scholar, and women’s rights authority joins Freida Jacques, Turtle Clan Mother of the Onondaga Nation Council of Chiefs, to give a special presentation on the unique story of the Haudenosaunee Women and the Suffragette Movement: A Sustainable World of Equality and Peace. The presentation is followed by a book signing of Wagner's Sisters in Spirit which relates the profound impact of Haudenosaunee women on the early women’s rights movement.
