Rehearsals September 8-October 2, 2022; Auditions held in June before registering.
Auditions:
This production is for Pre-Professional Teens for our September Intensive of A Chorus Line: School Edition. Students should be between the ages of 14-20.
Unlike other programs, participants must audition before registering for the program. Not everyone who auditions will be cast in the production. There will be a tuition fee ($350) for those who are cast as characters on “the line”. Those offered spots as cut dancers will be featured in “I Hope I Get It” and “One (Finale)” at a tuition of $175.
Auditions are on Wednesday, June 8 from 6PM-9PM. Due to the dancing requirements of the show, we will have all auditioners come at the same time to auditions, unlike past pre-pro auditions. However, all auditioners must register to attend auditions at the link below. All auditioners are to arrive at the same time but will be dismissed after they have sung and dance, we expect to be done by 9PM, but some may be done earlier.
Auditions will begin with dance upon arrival then into solo singing and potentially call backs. Please prepare a one-minute cut from any musical theatre song in the style of the song. As an accompanist will not be provided, please bring an accompaniment audio track (from YouTube is fine) on your phone or other device.
A small fee of $25 will be charged when signing up to audition. If you are cast in the production, the fee will be applied towards the $350 (or $175) tuition. If you are not cast in the production, the fee will be refunded to you. If you cancel your audition slot, do not show up for auditions, or do not accept the role offered to you, the $25 will not be refunded and not applied to other programs.
Auditioners will have the chance to notate roles they are interested in playing and roles they would prefer not to play on their audition forms.

A Chorus Line is a stunning concept musical capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway chorus audition. Exploring the inner lives and bittersweet ambitions of professional Broadway performers, the show features one powerhouse number after another. Memorable musical numbers include "What I Did for Love, "One," "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," "The Music and the Mirror," and "I Hope I Get It." A brilliantly complex fusion of song, dance, and compellingly authentic drama, A Chorus Line was instantly recognized as a classic.
OFC embraces diversity and encourages actors to apply even if they do not fit the stereotype of the character as originally written or portrayed. It should be noted that Tams Witmark Licensing Company has changed dialogue in the School Edition of A Chorus Line for the characters of Connie, Richie and Judy to be played by actors of any race or height.
Please note: This show contains serious and mature PG-13 material.
Please note: Students may participate in multiple classes and programs with OFC at the same time. Contact us for clarification on any potential schedule overlap.
