Children Awaiting Parents' Family Superhero Walk

Children Awaiting Parents (CAP), a local, nonprofit organization dedicated to finding adoptive families for children in foster care, is hosting its’ annual Family Walk on Saturday, June 6th at Ontario Beach Park.

Children Awaiting Parents (CAP), a local, nonprofit organization dedicated to finding adoptive families for children in foster care, is hosting its’ annual Family Walk on Saturday, June 6th at Ontario Beach Park. 

 

All families are invited to join CAfor a day of fun at the beach to celebrate with the super heroes of adoption and bring awareness to the need for families for waiting foster youth. Activities include: a walk on the pier, the Reptile Guy, double dutch performance by The Dream Team, Zumba  on the beach with Steve from the JCCsnacks and refreshments and entertainment for children of all ages with a special appearance from Superman. 

Event walkers and virtual walkers are encouraged to create teams and gather sponsors.  All proceeds go to support Children Awaiting Parents’ programs to find every waiting child their forever home.

About Children Awaiting Parents: For over forty years Children Awaiting Parents has been dedicated to finding loving adoptive homes for children who have waited the longest in foster care.  Children we support are considered “special needs” due to age (most are teenagers), having disabilities or being a part of a sibling group that does not want to be separated for adoption.  Children Awaiting Parents has helped find homes for 6,000 waiting youth.
