The RPO will be performing a selection of music inspired by space, ranging from popular film themes like Star Wars, ET, and Star Trek to classical favorites like Holst’s The Planets and Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra (famous for its use in 2001: A Space Odyssey).
Projecting images from the RMSC’s Strasenburgh Planetarium collection; each image was carefully compiled by its director, Steve Fentress, specifically to complement the orchestra’s musical selections.
Pre-concert activities will start at 1 PM, a space-themed art and craft.
