The Avenue Blackbox Theater Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening Weekend

THURSDAY, June 7th; 2PM: Ribbon Cutting w/ Mayor Lovely Warren (FREE & open to the public). Ribbon cutting ceremony, Tours, and Live community art making with Shawn Dunwoody and the Avenue Creative Capital Team!
FRIDAY, June 8th; 6:30-9PM: Grand Opening Event, “The Avenue Heist”. Come out an enjoy a “murder mystery” style event where you can tour the theatre, enjoy refreshments, and become a part of the play!! Special guest performances throughout the evening! (TICKETED $20/$40vip)
SATURDAY, June 9th;
12-4PM: Open House & Open Mic! Youth activities and programming including slam poetry, live art making and more. (FREE for youth. Adult donation suggested. Please consider bringing a new children’s book to donate to our literary center). Food trucks on site.
7PM: $12 Dollar: The Homecoming Encore performance featuring Jahaka Mindstorm and Anderson Allen (outstanding actor award ESTA Fest 2018). Directed by Gary Dewitt Marshall. Followed by Live Jazz (TICKETED $20/$40vip)
SUNDAY, June 10th; 12-3 PM: Story Parade w/ interactive storytelling featuring Annette Ramos and Rochester Latino Theatre Company musicians & friends. Good listening and participation gets you a place in the “Ease on Down the Avenue” Parade with instruments, flags and music, dressed bright and beautifully or as your favorite story character will parade around the grounds of theatre bringing color and creativity to the neighborhood! (FREE and open to the public. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult or older sibling. Please consider bringing a new children’s book to donate to our literary center!)
