This program explores the ‘secret’ cloistered world of early Italian convent music. Selections include medieval chant, Renaissance choral music, and Baroque vocal and organ solos. Schola Antiqua of Chicago (director: Michael Alan Anderson) is a professional early music ensemble dedicated to the performance of music before 1600.
