Micro Sports Programs, starting at age 2, are a great way to introduce children to a variety of sports while building character and leadership skills. Soccer Tots at the Rochester Sports Garden is a child physical development program that utilizes a variety of fun games to delight and engage young children in physical activity. Classes are professionally designed to develop motor skills, promote fitness, and create self confidence. In a non-competitive environment, SoccerTots stresses the development of simple motor skills such as: balance, kicking, running, jumping, dribbling, foot-eye coordination, running control as well as listening and following instructions. The Rochester Sports Garden offers classes for children from 18 months to 6 years old. Class schedules are available online at www.rocsportsgarden.com under the SoccerTots link. The Rochester Sports Garden also offers: Youth indoor soccer leagues and practice time, baseball, slow pitch, and fast pitch softball batting cages.

Next Level Hoops is for male and female basketball players ages 10+. Next Level Hoops offers small group training and individual lessons. We teach your child important skills such as shooting, ball handling, footwork and agility training. Our program is effective and helps young athletes get real results and become better all around players. Instructional sessions are available now, however space is limited and spots fill up quickly. Programs available include BLADES figure skating club, learn to skate for hockey, and hockey league. Figure skating and learn to skate for hockey run from 9:30-11:00 AM on Tuesday mornings. Program cost is $31 for 9 weeks in the fall. (Another session begins in January.) Hockey runs from 1:15-2:45 on Tuesday afternoons. Program cost is $45 for 6 weeks in the fall and 9 weeks in the winter.

Monday Nights starting mid-June to late September/early October, 5pm until 8pm, $20 per night.
Prior whitewater instruction is necessary to participate. (Youth Kayak Camp, Into To Whitewater or inquire about private instruction.) ACA certified instructors will provide advanced instruction, including rolling, playboating, stroke development and guided practice. We provide a boat, paddle, skirt, PFD and helmet.

Ski and Snowboard training for kids ages 3-88 is done indoors on the only Snow Deck in the region. All equipment is provided and students wear a harness to prevent falls. Instruction is done one-on-one by Certified instructors.
Skiing is taught using the Direct to Parallel system that takes advantage of modern shaped skis. No snowplow, wedge or stem maneuvers are taught so participants learns expert level parallel turns from the start. Levels taught include: beginners, returning moms and dads, remedial, and expert.
Snowboarding is taught using a Direct to the Fall Line approach. Painful hard falls are prevented because of the harness and balance bar. Students are taught to ride both Regular and Goofy footed to increase their fun and safety. Skills taught include: balance, toe and heel side turns, 180's, 360's, jumping, side slipping, and toe/heel catch and recover to avoid falling.
All skills taught can be used on snow to make transition to the slopes fun and easy.

Founded by Scott Thyroff, head pro at Locust Hill Tennis Club, Owner of Manhattan Square Tennis Club, High School and Collegiate All American, 2005 Districts singles, doubles and Mixed Doubles Champion and 2006, doubles and Mixed Doubles Champion.
Thyroff Team Tennis offers group lessons, semiprivate lessons and private lessons. Classes are held in the fall at Locust Hill Country Club (you do not have to be a member of Locust Hill to take tennis lessons) and at Manhattan Square Tennis Club in the winter and during inclement weather in the fall. Manhattan Square Tennis Club is located downtown next to the Strong Museum. Call or email for a brochure or get set up in group or private lessons.
