Camp Smile is a free day camp entirely sponsored by the Webster Lions Club and community donations. We offer extraordinary activities for blind and visually-challenged children ages 5-18 to experience opportunities in a safe 1:1 ratio of camper to counselor allowing them to grow and have fun in spite of their challenges. They may experience such activities as fishing, bike riding, swimming, hiking, Sea Breeze and more. The final evening of each two-week session is an overnight campout in tents. The Webster Lions prepare dinner and then s'mores and karoke or storytelling around the campfire and then a pancake breakfast the next morning before the children head for home. This year's sessions run from July 7-18 and July 21-August 1. Transportation is provided if required, all at no cost to families with these special children. For more information and applications, go to www.campsmile.org.
