Nestled in the scenic Bristol Hills, Sunny Hill Stables offers a small, personalized horsemanship program that appeals to children who love spending time outdoors around horses, caring for them and riding for enjoyment rather than competition. The stable’s 11 acres include outdoor riding arena and two trails. The safety of their campers is their first priority. The program is supervised and instructed by director Margaret Murphy, who has over 20 years of horsemanship and riding experience. The staff has a minimum of 5 years of horsemanship experience, and direct experience working with children in a camp setting. There is one counselor for every 3-4 riders. The daylong program runs from 9:00am to 3:30pm and includes horsemanship classes, equitation classes, bareback riding, care of horse and ground games, master classes, horse-themed crafts and games, contests, trail rides and a daily snack and lunch time. All levels of rider are welcome. Regular application and re-application of sunscreen and frequent water breaks are part of our busy day. There are four weeklong camps available during July and August. To register or find out more, please contact Margaret by email or by phone. Horseback Riding Lessons
Fieldstone Farm, Whittier Road, Spencerport
(585) 349-7172
Bridget DeRollo, fieldstonefarmny@aol.com

Fieldstone Farm offers a unique horse riding program. Understanding that youth today are faced with more challenges than ever before and are receiving mixed messages about risky behavior, our program has been creatively orchestrated to address these issues while teaching kids how to ride and care for horses. Each day promises to be packed with fun-filled activities such as arts & crafts, nature, games, and horse riding instruction, of course! Our philosophy of developing "full potential youth" is an important part of everything we do - this means that mixed with all the fun and new friendships are lessons about trust, respect and making healthy choices while feeling good about ourselves. Two instructors.
