Railroad Junction Summer Day Camp is owned and operated by Toddler’s Workshop Child Care Center. It is for children that have completed kindergarten-12 years old. The camp operates Monday-Friday with hours of operation 6:30-6:00. Weekly themes include activities such as: arts and crafts, cooking, service learning, building, skateboarding, bike riding, rollerblading, and traditional sports that include basketball, volleyball, golf, and swimming in our in-ground pool. Weekly field trips, snacks, and lunch are included. You will also receive a camp t-shirt if registered for a minimum of ten days. Discounts are available for more than one child per family enrolled. During this 4-day program (Mon-Thurs), participants learn the basic elements of whitewater kayaking and water safety. Students learn wet-exits, forward and reverse sweep strokes, peel outs, eddy turns, ferries, river reading skills and Eskimo rolls. Kids develop a strong foundation for white water slalom racing and recreational river running. 12 hours total camp.

Sail the Seven Seas Summer Camp offers a diverse and inclusive cultural experience for children who have completed kindergarten -grade 6 (6-12 years old.) The camp explores six different regions of the world ( a different country each week) through music, dance, drama, art projects, food and literature. Each child receives their own passport. Monday through Thursday mornings of each week children learn a song, dance and dramatize folk tales from that country. These sessions are led by experienced specialized teachers. Special guests introduce their county and guest artists also demonstrate native musical instruments. On Friday, the group performs for a senior citizen group or nursing home, enjoys a picnic lunch and then departs for a field trip adventure which connects with the country of the week. Afternoon activities involve swimming on Monday and Wednesdays, creating art projects on Tuesdays and cooking on Thursdays. Before and after care is also available. $125 per week + $25 for extended day.

Located at the juncture of Irondequoit Creek and Irondequoit Bay, this paddlesport camp exposes children to the beautiful wetlands of Ellison Park. Our instructors teach basic/intermediate canoe and kayak technique in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Safety and rescue skills are implemented throughout the week. Sessions run Mon-Thur with Fri. as a rain date. Campers may choose either an am or pm time slot. 7-13 yrs.

Bay View Family YMCA offers Summer Camp beginning mid-June and continuing through just before Labor Day. They have half-day and full-day preschool camp for 3-5 year olds. The School Age Camp is for 5-15 year olds. They also have a CIT program and several special camps, such as Bayfront Camp, where your child can learn to waterski, kayak, and canoe right on Irondequoit Bay. Earth Camp

Campers will choose a camp name, participate in crafts and hikes, and gain valuable knowledge of the natural world through hands-on exploration of nature center habitats including ponds, woodland and meadows. Activities we will be focusing on include orienteering, letter-boxing, bird watching and study, team building, problem solving and outdoor skills. Each week of full-day camp will culminate in Earth Camp Survival Challenge, an event where campers get a chance to mingle with other age groups and put themselves to the test by completing a series of tasks and challenges, both physical and mental, based on what they have learned over the course of the week. Pathfinders (grades 6-8), Explorers (grades 3-5), and Seekers (grades 1-3) may choose from one of five weeks during the summer. Our youngest group, the Searchers (ages 4-6), have a special week reserved for them at the end of the summer. They may choose a morning or an afternoon session.

Summer Performing Arts Camp: This camp instructs students in grades 8-12 in singing, acting and dancing. A unique and creative musical theatre show is presented at the conclusion of the camp. Camp runs Mon-Fri, late July through August. Students may register for half-day session $225 (either morning OR afternoon) or full-day session $325. The registration fee includes 3 weeks of instruction and all necessary materials! All instructors are certified teachers and/or professional performers.

A mixed-age day camp in the forest of Mendon Ponds Park dedicated to reconnecting childhood with nature. At Camp Woods Play, one day builds on the next and free play, imaginative games, art, skits, music, dance, and water play, come out of a shared experience of nature. The Camp is for children of any age and, as in Scandinavian Forest Kindergartens that the camp is modeled on, parents and caretakers are welcome to participate and assist. Safety is a high priority. Heritage Christian Stables is now offering the Heritage Horse Camp to the public! Children will be able to learn about horse care, take part in fun horse-related crafts, enjoy daily riding lessons, participate in educational equestrian activities, prepare horse-themed snacks and wrap up the week with a Friday Pizza Party! Horseback riding is especially beneficial for people with developmental disabilities. Located on Salt Road in Webster, New York, Heritage Christian Stables sits on 13 acres and includes a home for six adults with special needs as well as the therapeutic riding program. Camp Smile is a free day camp entirely sponsored by the Webster Lions Club and community donations. We offer extraordinary activities for blind and visually-challenged children ages 5-18 to experience opportunities in a safe 1:1 ratio of camper to counselor allowing them to grow and have fun in spite of their challenges. They may experience such activities as fishing, bike riding, swimming, hiking, Sea Breeze and more. The final evening of each two-week session is an overnight campout in tents. The Webster Lions prepare dinner and then s'mores and karoke or storytelling around the campfire and then a pancake breakfast the next morning before the children head for home. This year's sessions run from July 7-18 and July 21-August 1. Transportation is provided if required, all at no cost to families with these special children.
