Creative Clay Camp Summer 2009 How can you create a large bowl with cat feet, or box with a lid and a handle? Try and twist clay coils into paisley shapes and form a large bowl! Learn the basics of hand building techniques in clay for three days and glaze it with several colors on the final day. Parents will have to come back a week later to pick up the finished work. All supplies and materials provided, bring a snack or lunch!

Local artists will conduct project-oriented classes focusing on such diverse subjects as: Abstract Painting, Cartooning and Comic Book Art, Fantasy Illustration, Landscapes and Still Lifes among others. Weekly art day camps in the summer: hike to picturesque sites, picnic by the falls and finish the details back at the Mill. Enjoy sketching animals, creek-scapes, architecture and gardens. We’ll provide charcoal, colored pencils, pastels and paint. Bring a sketchbook, water bottle and lunch in a backpack.
Ages 4-7 Fee: $90/week (10am-12pm), two one-week sessions in early July.
Ages 8 and up CLAY MORNINGS, ARTFUL AFTERNOONS 9:30 - 4:30 $205/week
Spend each morning in the pottery studio. Create art of all kinds in the afternoons: Mon-Making Masks, Tues-Drawing and Painting, Weds-Masks, Th-Painting, Fri-Drawing outdoors. Artful afternoons will have a variety of teachers to keep this fresh and fun! Bring a lunch.

Summer Art Day School offers children ages 7-13 a solid week of art making. Guided by experienced art teachers, students have fun exploring the creative process, working with a variety of materials and techniques, and gaining inspiration from the MAG collections and exhibitions. Classes are divided by age into one group of seven-to-nine-year-olds and another of ten-to-thirteen-year-olds. Each group enjoys two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. These classes are designed to complement each other and give your child a stimulating experience. Art Day School is not exactly camp; it is fun, structured learning. Children who love art will love Art Day School. Choose from seven one-week sessions, from the end of June until just before Labor Day. Two week sessions are also available.

A mixed-age day camp in the forest of Mendon Ponds Park dedicated to reconnecting childhood with nature. In addition, the camp focuses on reconnecting children with play in general - a quickly vanishing childhood activity in our overstimulated society. At Camp Woods Play, one day builds on the next and learning, art, skits and music come out of a shared experience of nature. The Camp is for children of any age and, as in Scandanvian Forest Kindergartens that the camp is modelled on, parents and care-takers are welcome to participate and assist. For supervised free-play in nature sites are carefully chosen. The lead teachers Marcie Matthews and Angela Caprarotta are Professionally Waldorf and Montessori trained and experienced and both have degrees in biology. Campers are dropped off and picked up at the same location, near bathrooms and a park shelter. Not far from the Mounted Police barns and Wild Wings raptor education center. Organic snacks, filtered water provided. Late June - Late July.
