Description:  MUMFORD, NEW YORK- August 18, 2008- A fireworks extravaganza will take place on August 30, 2008 at Genesee Country Village & Museum. One of only two such displays in the entire country, the patriotic celebration of music, fireworks, special light displays and narration will thrill audience members of all ages. Titled “Symbols of American Freedom” the spectacular show will take place on the museum’s upper staging area. The gates open at 5 p.m. and the program begins at dusk. The Historic Village will be open for families to stroll and there will be activities ongoing until the show begins. Museum restaurants will be open and picnic areas are available.

Take in the breathtaking show at one of the nations premier Labor Day celebrations. Admission for this special event is $12 for non-members (Fireworks Extravaganza only), $10 for members. To visit the village throughout the day and take in the “Fireworks Extravaganza” in the evening, non-members will need to purchase a $16 dollar pass- that covers all-day and includes the Fireworks. Children under 3 are admitted free of charge. Parking passes are $10 for each additional car. Reservations can be made by visiting the web at www.gcv.org or by faxing (585)-538-6927. Rain dates for the Fireworks Extravaganza are Sunday, August 31st and Monday, September 1st .
